LulaRoost Community Guidelines
Every LulaRoost ride should feel safe, respectful and welcoming. These guidelines apply to every rider and driver, and to anyone riding with them. Breaking them can lead to a warning, a pause or permanent removal from LulaRoost.
1. Respect everyone
Treat every rider and driver the way you'd want to be treated.
-
Be courteous. No yelling, insults, threats or slurs.
-
Respect personal space and privacy. Don't ask personal questions someone doesn't want to answer. Don't comment on anyone's appearance.
-
No flirting or sexual comments. This applies before, during and after the ride.
-
No contact after the ride. Don't call, text, visit or message a rider or driver outside the app once the ride is over. Use the app's lost-item tool to return belongings.
2. No discrimination
LulaRoost serves everyone on equal terms, as the Nondiscrimination and Accessibility Policy at lularoost.com/accessibility explains.
-
Equal treatment. Never refuse, cancel, rate lower or treat anyone differently because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or any other trait protected by law.
-
Service animals are always welcome. Allergies, fear of animals and religious objections aren't reasons to refuse. Drivers may not ask for proof.
-
Mobility devices. Drivers accept folding wheelchairs, walkers, canes and scooters that fit safely in the car, and help stow them when asked.
-
No questions about disability. No one at LulaRoost, and no driver, asks a rider about a disability.
3. Safety first
-
Check every ride. Riders: make sure the driver's photo, name, car and plate match the app before getting in. Drivers: confirm the rider's name, and on Health rides the PIN.
-
Buckle up. Everyone wears a seatbelt. No more riders than there are seatbelts.
-
Car seats. Riders bring a car seat for any child who needs one under Alabama law. Drivers may decline the ride if the right seat isn't there.
-
No physical contact. No touching anyone without their consent, and no sexual contact of any kind. Sexual misconduct means permanent removal and may be reported to the police.
-
Zero tolerance for impaired driving. Drivers may not drive after any amount of alcohol or drugs. A rider's report suspends the driver right away while LulaRoost investigates. The Zero Tolerance Policy at lularoost.com/zero-tolerance gives the full rules.
-
Weapons. No weapons are allowed on a LulaRoost ride, for anyone. Riders, drivers and anyone riding with them may not carry a firearm or any other weapon, even where Alabama law allows carrying. A driver may decline or end a ride if a rider has a weapon, and a rider may end a ride if a driver has one. Report it right away.
-
Drive safely. Drivers obey traffic laws and use only hands-free navigation while driving. They also follow LulaRoost's driving-hour limit: a 6-hour break after 11 hours of driving.
-
Use the safety button. In an emergency, the app's safety button calls 911 and shares your location and trip details. Either person may end a ride that feels unsafe.
4. Respect the car
-
Damage is the rider's responsibility. A rider who damages or soils the driver's car, or whose guests or children do, is charged a damage fee of up to $250, depending on the extent of the damage. LulaRoost reviews the driver's photos first, and the rider may dispute the fee within 7 days.
-
No smoking or vaping in the car, by anyone.
-
No open alcohol. Follow Alabama's open-container laws.
-
A clean, comfortable car. Drivers keep the car clean and in good repair, display the LulaRoost decal while online, and keep music and temperature comfortable for the rider.
5. Use LulaRoost honestly
-
App rides only. Every ride is booked and paid in the app. Drivers never accept street hails, cash fares or payment outside the app. Cash tips are fine.
-
One person, one account. Don't share, sell or lend an account, and don't let anyone else drive under yours.
-
No fraud. That includes:
-
fake rides or fake damage reports
-
abusing promotions or referrals
-
giving false information
-
longer routes taken just to raise the fare
-
-
Riders under 18 ride only with an adult on the same ride. Drivers may cancel if a rider appears to be an unaccompanied minor. Teen account rides follow the Teen Account Terms at lularoost.com/teen-terms.
-
People, not packages. Don't book a ride just to send an item with no rider.
6. Ratings, recording and reports
-
Rate honestly. Ratings are about the ride: safety, courtesy, the route and the car. Never rate anyone based on a protected trait.
-
No retaliation. Don't lower a rating, cancel or treat anyone differently because they reported a problem.
-
Recording. Drivers may record rides only with a mounted dash camera and a LulaRoost recording notice displayed in the car. Recordings may never be posted or shared except with LulaRoost, insurers, the police or a court.
-
Report problems. In an emergency, call 911. Otherwise, report in the app (Help > Report a safety issue) or email safety@lulalous.com. LulaRoost acknowledges reports within 24 hours.
7. When guidelines are broken
LulaRoost reviews every report and acts based on how serious it is.
| What happened | Examples | What LulaRoost does |
|---|---|---|
| Minor | Rudeness, a messy car, an unprofessional comment | A written warning and a reminder of these guidelines |
| Serious, or repeated minor | Unsafe driving, abusive language, fraud, repeated warnings | The account is paused during review, which may end in removal |
| Severe | Violence, sexual misconduct, impaired driving, weapons violations, discrimination with slurs or threats, refusing a service animal | Permanent removal, and a report to the police where appropriate |
Appeals. Riders and drivers may appeal a pause or removal within 30 days at safety@lulalous.com. A LulaRoost staff member who wasn't part of the original decision reviews it within 14 business days. Drivers appeal under Section 11 of the Driver Agreement.
These guidelines are part of the LulaRoost Terms of Service and the Driver Agreement. LulaRoost will give at least 14 days' notice before changing them. They are posted at lularoost.com/community-guidelines and in the app, and are effective October 13, 2026.
